Before you buy (or right after)
- Play the free demo. It has been on Steam since June 1, 2026 and is the most reliable way to judge whether Silver Pines' pacing fits you. Demo details.
- Check your PC. Minimum is a 64-bit Windows 10 machine with 8 GB RAM and a GTX 660 Ti-class GPU. Full requirements.
- Grab the launch discount. Steam lists $22.49 with a 10% launch discount — the cheapest official price on day one.
Confirmed mechanics to plan around
- Scarce resources are the core loop. The official description says supplies are limited and must be carefully managed. Practically: don't burn rare items on encounters you can avoid, and treat shops/storage as strategic decisions, not chores.
- It's a metroidvania — expect doors you can't open yet. Exploration-heavy design means you will return to old areas with new tools. Leave yourself breadcrumbs (in-game map markers or notes) instead of bashing locked paths.
- Puzzles are part of progression. The official materials promise puzzle solving alongside combat. If a room fights you, the answer is usually observation, not grinding.
- Nightmare encounters exist. Combat with "nightmarish terrors" is confirmed — but as a survival horror title, fleeing and conserving is a legitimate strategy, especially early.
Setup tips (all verified on the Steam store page)
- Controller is fully supported, including DualShock/DualSense features — wired or Bluetooth both work on Windows.
- Enable Steam Cloud in the game's properties if you play on more than one PC; it's a confirmed feature.
- Achievements exist — if you chase them, check the in-game achievement list early so you don't miss missable ones.
- Single-player only. No co-op or multiplayer — plan sessions accordingly.
What we will add after launch
This guide grows with verified information: map structure, boss strategies, ending paths and collectible locations will be added only as they are confirmed by playthroughs and community evidence — we would rather publish nothing than publish a made-up walkthrough.
